The Big Short among the big winners at the Producers Guild Awards
Though The Revenant and Mad Max: Fury Road have been the trophy hoovers this awards season, Adam McKay’s The Big Short has also being getting plenty of respect. And to make the Oscar race that much more interesting, the film about the financial crisis just walked away with the Producers Guild Of America’s seal of approval.
The PGA Awards have often been a barometer for how people are feeling about the contenders this year, so this is a significant boost for the film’s chances. Elsewhere, Inside Out picked up another award, further cementing its own chances on the big gold night, while Amywon another documentary category.
TV-wise, it was a good night for Fargo‘s second season and Game Of Thrones‘ fifth, while Transparent was once again recognised alongside acclaimed true-crime series The Jinx.
Here is the full list of winners. And for more on McKay and his film, find the Empire Podcast entry for last week lurking at the bottom of the page.
